Our client, a global automotive electronics manufacturer specializing in in-vehicle connectivity and charging systems, is seeking a Wireless Charging Design Engineer to join their engineering team. The organization designs and manufactures solutions such as media hubs, USB charging modules, wireless chargers, and high-speed data systems used by leading automotive OEMs worldwide, supporting products from concept through full-scale production.
The Wireless Charging Design Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert in the design and development of next-generation wireless charging systems. This role is heavily focused on hardware development, including power electronics, system architecture, and wireless power transfer technologies.
This individual will work cross-functionally with hardware, software, and systems teams to ensure seamless integration of wireless charging solutions. They will also play a key role in research and development efforts, staying at the forefront of evolving wireless charging standards and technologies, and contributing to the company’s long-term product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop wireless charging systems, including transmitter and receiver architectures
- Develop and optimize wireless power transfer (WPT) solutions for various applications
- Design power electronics, control circuits, and associated hardware components
- Collaborate with software and firmware teams to ensure system-level integration
- Conduct modeling, simulation, testing, and validation of designs
- Analyze data and performance metrics to ensure systems meet functional and reliability requirements
- Support development of prototypes, demos, and technical presentations for internal and customer use
- Stay current with emerging wireless charging standards and technologies (e.g., Qi)
- Participate in technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and industry groups
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 5–10 years of experience in electrical design, with a focus on power electronics
- 3–5 years of experience in wireless charging or wireless power transfer systems
- Strong background in analog and digital circuit design
- Experience with circuit simulation and modeling tools
- Knowledge of wireless charging protocols and standards
- Experience with system integration, prototyping, and validation
- Familiarity with automotive standards (ASPICE, ISO26262) is a plus
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
