A venture-backed, high-growth software company is seeking a Frontend Deployed Engineer to join its engineering organization during a significant growth phase. Role Overview

In this role, you will work directly with customers to solve high-priority technical challenges, understand complex workflows, and turn those insights into product improvements. This is a hands-on role combining frontend engineering, technical problem solving, product thinking, and customer partnership.

Key Responsibilities

 Serve as a trusted technical partner to customers, engineering leaders, and software teams. 
 Diagnose and resolve technical issues across multiple codebases and product environments. 
 Build, enhance, and ship frontend features, bug fixes, and product improvements. 
 Translate customer feedback into actionable product and roadmap recommendations. 
 Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to improve customer outcomes. 
 Contribute to team growth by helping identify exceptional engineering talent.

Ideal Candidate Background

 3–5 years of professional software development experience, ideally including time as a forward deployed engineer, startup founder, or in similarly high ownership technical roles.
 Strong frontend engineering experience, ideally with TypeScript and modern web application frameworks.
 Full-stack engineering capability with the ability to actively code and contribute across the stack. 
 Experience working with APIs and SDKs. 
 Excellent communication skills and comfort engaging directly with technical stakeholders and customers. 
 Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments with high ownership expectations. 
 Strong product intuition with a customer-first mindset.
 Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in building, scaling, and high-impact execution.

Preferred Experience

 Experience in a reputable venture-backed, high-velocity early-stage startup environment. 
 Alternatively, experience in technically rigorous software organizations where the individual demonstrably drove impact, not simply execution. 
 Former founders and prior forward deployed engineers are strongly preferred.

Education

 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline preferred. 
 Strong academic pedigree from highly regarded technical institutions is considered a plus.

Hard Skills

 Strong React development experience is required. 
 Significant hands-on experience with TypeScript and at least one additional programming language. 
 Full-stack engineering capability with the ability to actively code and contribute technically. 
 Experience working with APIs, SDKs, and modern software integration patterns.
 Experience with OpenAPI specifications; familiarity with Conjure (Palantir) or Smithy (AWS) is highly desirable. 
 Experience building with Next.js and deployment workflows leveraging Vercel.
 Ability to confidently demonstrate products, features, or technical projects they are personally proud of building.

Soft Skills

 Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to think quickly, troubleshoot live, and solve technical problems during customer interactions. 
 High comfort operating directly with technical stakeholders, including engineering leaders and developers. 
 Strong product intuition and the ability to balance technical execution with customer needs.
